Francis Poulenc 'Les Mamelles de Tirésias' with British Youth Opera
**This event has been cancelled due to COVID-19**
Taken from Southbank Sinfonia’s event description:
Packed with eccentricity and irony, Les Mamelles de Tirésias is a whacky take on France’s complex post-war identity. Dances and parodies pepper Poulenc’s truly topsy-turvey score.
Puccini’s wickedly witty comedic take on a chunk of Dante’s Divine Comedy features one of opera’s most iconic arias, ‘O mio babbino caro’.
Our partnership with British Youth Opera sees operatic classics tackled with the fresh interpretation of music’s next generation of stars.
